The signal path runs through tubes from input to output, with carefully selected NOS tubes used for the preamp and Vari-Mu stages, and JJ tubes for the output section. Custom-made transformers and inductors give the unit its strong analogue identity, adding weight, colour and movement in a way that feels musical rather than forced. The preamp offers tube character with special morphing capabilities, allowing the source to move between cleaner detail and more saturated tone. The inductor-based EQ is immediate and effective, ideal for broad tonal shaping while keeping the sound natural and lively. Dynamics are handled by two classic approaches: a vibey Vari-Mu compressor for thickness and movement, and a smooth optical tube compressor for more gentle level control. A de-essing option adds transparent sibilance management when needed, making the TUBESTRIP especially useful on vocals and other bright sources. With a convenient output control, built-in universal power supply and solid 3U construction, the TUBESTRIP is a serious studio channel strip for engineers who want tube tone, analogue control and a complete tracking chain in one unit.
