Levenspiration

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of finally visiting Levens Hall, near Kendal in Cumbria. Renowned for housing the oldest topiary garden in England, dating back to the 17th century, the experience was nothing short of magical – so much better than I had imagined. It’s a really beautiful place. During my visit, the House/Hall was also open to the public, and offered a different and equally beautiful perspective of the gardens; something I hadn't considered before my visit. Inside, I was captivated by the remarkable plasterwork and the unicorn featured in this print draws inspiration from the exquisite 400-year-old ceilings. Additionally, some enchanting drawings and plans for the garden were on display and are reflected in the charming little gardeners depicted around the hedges in my print!
