2024 'good donkey' Merlot.

FARM Organic fruit from Toolamba (Yorta Yorta Country). The last harvest before the vineyard was ripped out. GRAPES 100% Merlot. Wild fermented. Zero additions. Zero sulphur. Unfined. Unfiltered. 13% Alc/vol. FIELD Wild fermented on a hillside without power. Barrel-aged on full lees for two years. One lovely barrel, hand-bottled by gravity. TASTING Mega candied mulberry jam nose. Jubey dark fruits, boiled lolly and spice. Lavender floral joy, incredible acid and lovely light grip. DRINKING NOTE We find the Merlot from this site hits a pretty mega spot. It starts throwing off jasmine and intense blackberry. Definitely one to cellar; it will sing in even more harmonious languages with some age. Label art by Mat Bate.
