How It Works: Washing and Curing in One Machine Washing. The UW-03 features a powerful magnetic propeller that creates an aggressive vortex inside the tank, spinning at up to 500 rpm with a 31% improvement in fluid flow compared to previous models. This swirling action pulls uncured resin out of every corner of your print, including tight recesses and complex cavities. You can use isopropyl alcohol or, if you're working with water-washable resins, plain water. The tank is fully sealed to prevent leaks, spills, and solvent evaporation. Curing. Once washed and dry, your print moves on to the UV curing stage. The UW-03 features an array of 18 UV LEDs at 405 nm delivering over 20,000 µW/cm² of light intensity. The rotating turntable spins 360°, ensuring light hits the model evenly from every angle and fully hardens it — no soft spots, no sticky surfaces. Both processes are fully adjustable: you can set the speed (normal or fast) and the timer based on your resin type, model size, and geometry. When a print comes off the build plate, it's coated in uncured liquid resin and not yet fully hardened inside. Washing removes that tacky residue, while UV curing completes the polymerization — giving your print hardness, dimensional stability, and a clean finish. Without these steps, models remain brittle and sticky. Can I wash with water, or do I need alcohol? It depends on your resin. Standard resins typically require isopropyl alcohol, while water-washable resins can be cleaned with plain water — a more convenient and cost-effective option. The UW-03's sealed tank is compatible with both.How long do washing and curing take? There's no single answer — it depends on the size, complexity, and resin type. As a general guideline, a few minutes of washing and 2 to 6 minutes of curing are usually enough for small to medium-sized models. Over-curing can make resin brittle and cause yellowing or microcracks, especially on thin parts. Start with shorter times and only increase them if the surface is still tacky. Every resin has its own optimal curing window. Do I need to protect my printer's screen separately? The wash and cure station does not protect your printer's LCD screen — they're two separate things. To extend the life of your machine, we recommend using screen protectors and regularly inspecting the FEP, nFEP, and ACF film in your vat. Should I cure prints with the lid closed? Yes. The UW-03's tinted lid blocks 99.9% of UV light to protect your eyes, and the built-in safety system stops the curing cycle if the lid isn't properly in place.
