Joop Plasmeijer (born 1942) is a Dutch self-taught painter associated with Naïve Realism. His colourful and imaginative works often depict lively townscapes, idyllic village scenes, and dreamlike worlds filled with charming details and a strong sense of harmony. Plasmeijer began painting in the late 1960s and quickly gained recognition, receiving awards at the prestigious Talens Prize. His work has been exhibited widely and is included in important collections of Dutch naïve art. Today, he is regarded as one of the notable representatives of contemporary Dutch naïve painting.
