Summer Solstice 2026

FMR 18 traces a taut arc between two women named “Cristina”. It opens with an article by Giovanni Mariotti inspired by the great classic of American painting Christina’s World, and closes with a portrait of Queen Christina of Sweden. The other articles introduce two decks of playing cards dating back to the Late Middle Ages and five paintings from the dawn of the 20th century, a divertissement on the motif of asparagus in art and a tour of a stunning Moroccan palace.
