Blue Banana, Early/Mid Blooming Honeyberry (Haskap)
Selected for it’s superior flavor and vigorous growth rate, Blue Banana produces heavy crops of 6-12 pounds per plant. The berries are large with a delicious, sweet taste and are perfect for fresh eating, freezing, or processing into jams or jellies. Cold hardy to USDA zone 2. Not self-fertile – must plant with a different variety of Honeyberry with similar bloom time for cross-pollination and fruit production. Blue Banana is an early to mid season variety and is recommended to plant near other early to mid season varieties such as Aurora, Happy Giant, Blue Pinwheel, Blue Jewel, Sveta, Blue Horn, Blue Diamond, Blue Palm, Blue Dessert, Blue Drops, Honey Gin, Honey Delight, Blue Smoke, Honey Joy, Liberty Blue, Blue Mountain and others named in the Late and mid Blooming sections on this page here.
