Workshop Series - Custom "Barbed Wire" Dark oak - 3 String Cigar Box Guitar

A dark oak distressed finish over veneered ply box with aged zinc plated fixing brackets and hand painted barbed wire design. Matching bronze and aged hardware. Derived from our basic workshop guitars, these offer an improved pickup with tone and volume controls, with hand painted position markers to match the box. These offer genuine play-ability and great tone. Yellow Poplar through neck with backstrap thru' body reinforcement, blackwood fretboard with Van Gent nickel silver jumbo fretwire. Handpainted position marker decoration, white inlaid side dots and aged machine screw nut. Our guitar necks are fully profiled by hand using traditional methods for great play-ability and comfortable in-the-hand feel. Finished with shellac, hand rubbed gunstock oil and a final wax coat finish burnished to a satin lustre. 25 1/2 inch scale length. Ziplha nickelwound strings. Tuned G, D, G. Strat sized twin rail humbucker pickup, tone and volume pots, bronze tele-style control knobs, on a custom rusted plate, "orange drop" tone capacitor, Van Damme hookup wire, Neutrik jack. Super quality bronze open back machine heads . Walnut fretwire bridge. Bronze strap buttons. The "Custom" is a step up from one of our basic workshop guitars. By popular request we have added tone and volume to these models along with our new twin rail humbucker pickup for a really great sound that sounds full and warm when played through a clean amp, and raunchy and edgy with some overdrive. How can we do it at this price? Over ten years of experience making and playing cigar box guitars goes into these instruments, so our workshop is lean, mean and efficient, but our instruments are still full of soul and passion.
