Lard and Beeswax Lip Balm

This simple, lightly scented lip balm is just two ingredients: pastured lard and Vermont beeswax. The scented version adds a small amounts of lavender essential oil. Protect and soothe your lips without the constant need to reapply. Our compostable, plastic-free tubes hold 7g of balm, which doesn't sound like a lot but it's over 50% more than most standard lip balms, which often only hold 4g! Our lard comes from small farms in Vermont and New York who raise their pigs outdoors on pasture, where they are free to exhibit natural behaviors like rooting and wallowing. I render the lard myself using a gentle, dry rendering process, without bleaching or BHT. Because this product contains no preservatives or antioxidants, it's recommended you use them by the date stamped on the container. If you like to order multiples, storing extras in the freezer will extend their shelf life. A note on scent: Lard typically has very little scent of its own, so this product will smell like a mix of lavender and the natural scent of beeswax. If you want the moisture without the pork products, try our goose fat lip balm or our tallow and lanolin lip balm instead!
