Sake Server - CHIRORI

This is a traditional sake server made of pewter. Carefully produced by skilled craftsmen who hammer pewter plates with a hammer, using a technique called TATAKIDASHI. Simple patterns are etched into surface by the use of various hammers. These hammered indentations are not just for design, but the texture makes it also helps to hide scratches. Pewter has a high antibacterial quality making it particularly suitable for drinking alcohols including SAKE. There is a saying in Japan that pewter makes average SAKE into a premier sake. Due to pewter's characteristics, the cup makes cold SAKE extra cold.
