Circumstance Mourvèdre (South Africa)
An elegant take on a mysterious varietal. Circumstance Mourvèdre by Waterkloof has notes of dark fruit, wild herbs, fine tannins and a touch of acidity to balance this robust, aromatic red. This is a seriously sultry drop bound to impress any date or mate. Mourvèdre needs a hot, dry climate to ripen correctly, perhaps explaining why this bottle is so delicious, hailing from sunny Stellenbosch, South Africa. The grape is thought likely to be of Spanish origin by many experts, where it is called Monastrell, though many know it by its French name, Mourvèdre. Founded by Paul Boutinot in 2004, Waterkloof has strong connections to Manchester, as the Boutinot family hail from our very own Heaton Moor! Pair this with rustic stews, duck dishes or wild boar. Vintages may vary. Please contact us if you are looking for a specific vintage.
