Japanese matcha ritual
The Japanese tea culture offers a mindful room where the simple yet beautiful aesthetic has a calming effect on the mind. The ritual of preparing and enjoying matcha carries with it a sense of attentiveness and harmony, allowing the guest to enter a state of quiet focus and inner balance. In this event, Japanese Matcha Ritual, we share our knowledge of matcha and the close relationships we have built with our tea farmers and suppliers for more than a decade. We will also explore the history of matcha, reaching back to the time of Sen no Rikyū, the great tea master who shaped the Japanese tea tradition. Each guest will receive a serving of matcha, prepared individually in quiet presence—just as in a traditional tea ceremony—creating a meditative space for reflection and calm. The event takes place in our tea bar at the Rosenvænget store, built by Japanese carpenter Yuji Takahashi with the Japanese tea ritual in mind—a space where sharing the tea experience itself becomes a soothing encounter for the mind.
