Montessori: On Religious Education

Montessori: On Religious Education is a compilation of three small books. All are anchored in the observations of Dr. Montessori.The first is from 1929 and is entitled the Child in the Church. E.M. Standing wrote it in collaboration with Dr. Montessori. Second is The Liturgical Year (originally written in 1931 and slightly updated in 1949. This was completed just a few years before her death and seems to be a culmination of her experiences. The third is The Holy Mass which is a further study of the topic after The Mass Explained to Children/The Living Mass for Children. Georgette and Anne-Marie Bernard compiled this monograph in 1955 from Dr. Montessor’s talks. The depth of the Montessori roots for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is evident in this book.
