"5th Hole at Royal Dornoch" Live Event Painting

This original oil painting was created live on-site during the Royal Dornoch Member-Guest tournament, one of the most coveted member events at one of the world's greatest links courses. Set up at the 5th tee box with the real green in view, the painting draws from both an early morning reference photograph taken earlier in the week and the landscape itself, blending the entertainment of live event painting with the observational studies of plein air work. Royal Dornoch consistently ranks among the top courses on earth. Designed by Old Tom Morris and refined over more than a century of Scottish winds and golden light, the course sits on a natural raised plateau above Dornoch Firth, with views across the links that feel genuinely untouched. This is golf as it was meant to be played and painted. On the final night of the event, the painting was auctioned as part of the evening dinner, raising £3,000 for charity.
