Tall Black Vintage Earthenware Jar

Shanxi, circa 1920 These large earthenware jars were produced in northern China around the early 20th century and they are each finished in a rustic black glaze. They would once have been used to store rice or grains but today make great statement pieces in a hallway or entrance - ideal for large botanical displays. The dark glaze provides depth and contrast with the unglazed, natural rims that give a sense of age. Note that sizes and shapes can vary slightly as each jar is individual. Minimum diameter of the opening of each jar is approximately 20cm. Sold individually, the price shown is for a single jar.
