Ariel comes from the Hebrew Ari-El — Lion of God. It is the name given to Jerusalem in the Book of Isaiah. The spirit of the air in Shakespeare's The Tempest. The brightest moon of Uranus, named after a spirit of light. It carries two things at once: gravity and flight. That is the precise tension this garment holds. From the front, Ariel is architecture — a structured point collar standing clean at the throat, two deep knife-pleats pressed into the chest panel and then released, a row of large coconut shell buttons descending in a straight, unhurried line from collar to hem. The geometry is deliberate. The tailoring is without apology. From the back, it is something else entirely. One centre box pleat at the yoke. Then nothing. Just cloth, falling. And the fabric is so fine, so honestly thin, that in direct light the white of the trousers beneath shows through the lower hem like a watermark in paper. Gravity. And flight. Ariel. Ariel is a hand-woven 100% cotton shirt-dress in midnight navy — a long-length piece falling mid-calf to near-ankle, with a classic point collar, a structured chest panel with two deep knife-pleats, a full-length button placket fastened with large natural coconut shell buttons, full sleeves with single-button coconut shell cuffs, deep side slits, and a centre box pleat at the back yoke. The cloth is the revelation. This is an extraordinarily fine handloom cotton — semi-sheer at the hem, luminous where the light passes through it, with a natural warp-stripe shimmer running vertically through the navy. That shimmer is not a weave pattern. It is what this weight of hand-woven cotton does when it catches light at an angle: the vertical warp threads catching unevenly, the way water catches unevenly, so the cloth is never quite one colour twice. Two pleats at the chest. One pleat at the back. Everything else is the cloth, uninterrupted. Wear it over wide white cotton trousers — the contrast of navy over white, with the light coming through the hem, is the whole look. Belted loosely over a slip for an evening. With a simple gold bangle, nothing else. Ariel is the shirt-dress that gets entirely out of the way of the woman wearing it. About my fabric. I was made with 100% fine cotton, making me a breathable fabric. How I was woven? I was woven by "Plain weave" technique - a rare process that's almost extinct in Pakistan. How much time did it take? It took my weaver 5 hours to weave entire Shirt Fabric. About my colors. Do not worry! I will not loose my colors, I am yarn-dyed by OEKO-TEX® certified dyes, which makes me more comfortable and irritation free, which means that I'll never harm your skin.
