1988 Vietnamese Đồng Banknote Set 500 & 1,000 Đồng
Origin: 1988 Socialist Republic of Vietnam Issuer: State Bank of Vietnam/ Ngân hàng Nhà nước Việt. Currency: Vietnamese đồng. Material: Paper. State: Uncirculated. Set includes: 500 đồng + 1,000 đồng Set of 2 original Vietnamese đồng banknotes from the Socialist Republic period. Both are from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and issued by the State Bank of Vietnam. Front side has Hồ Chí Minh, because of course. Back sides show proper working-state imagery: harbour/ships on the 500 đồng and countryside water buffalo/farmer scene on the 1,000 đồng. Not war era South Vietnam, not tourist souvenir money. These are real Vietnamese circulation banknotes from the 1980-1990 socialist republic period. Good small collector set, display item, world currency bundle, or cheap communist banknote add-on. 500 Đồng note Front: Shows Hồ Chí Minh portrait with the text Ngân hàng Nhà nước Việt Nam — State Bank of Vietnam and the denomination Năm Trăm Đồng. Back: Shows Hải Phòng port / dockside trawlers, with cranes, ships and industrial harbour scenery. Good socialist working-port imagery: boats, labour, state economy, rebuilding country after war. 1,000 Đồng note Front: Shows Hồ Chí Minh portrait with Vietnamese state-bank text and the denomination Một Nghìn Đồng — one thousand đồng. Back: Shows an agricultural / rural production scene with water buffalo and farmer, very classic socialist countryside money design. Good visual contrast with the 500 đồng harbour note: one industrial port, one rural labour scene. The watermarks and UV on these are very beautiful lotus design. Very great small piece for yourself or as gift to a geopolitical confused friend/lover.
