Atomized Psychic Thermodust

Perfect for nail art, weird experiments, or anything else you can possibly think of. Atomized Psychic Thermodust shifts through a surreal range of pink and purple tones as it warms up, moving from deep violet through bright magenta to almost white. The transition begins around 30°C and continues through the low and mid 30s, with the palest pink and white tones appearing above 39°C. Mixes easily into paints, polishes, gels, resins, glues and other compatible mediums. Trigger it with body heat, warm surfaces, or temperature shifts in the environment. The effect is reversible, repeatable, and ideal for making surfaces that feel reactive, engineered, and alive. Mix with nail polish to create a fascinating effect: cooler parts of the nail can sit in richer purple tones, while warmer areas fade into brighter pinks. On the nail, this can create a gradient effect, with shifting bands of colour appearing depending on body heat, airflow, and contact with warm or cool surfaces. Please be aware that this product has a shelf-life of around 2 years in a room temperature environment. It will bleach in the sun over a couple of weeks, and will lose its effectiveness if kept noticeably above its change temperature, so isn’t recommended for painting permanent things like cars, houses, or anything that will sit in the sun, nor anything that gets very hot, like radiators, engines etc. Store away from direct sunlight. The science of thermochromic pigment: Thermochromic pigments use tiny heat-sensitive microcapsules that alter their optical properties as temperature changes. When cool, the pigment appears in deeper purple tones. As heat increases, the internal capsule system changes state, altering the way light is absorbed and reflected, causing the visible colour to shift through a sequence of pink and violet shades. Atomized Psychic Thermodust has been engineered for a broad multi-stage transition, moving from violet through magenta, almost into white as temperature rises.
