"A Moment of Beauty" Brook Trout Original Oil Painting

"A trout is a moment of beauty known only to those who seek it." — Arnold Gingrich Most of my work is done above the surface, but in recent years I’ve dipped my toe in the waters of fish art. "A Moment of Beauty" is an original oil painting inspired by the cool mountain trout streams that surround my studio in Boone, NC. I love the expanded color palette that comes with painting birds in flight and fish below the surface of the water. There are more blues and blue-greens in these scenes compared to a whitetail in a fall landscape. There are some great complimentary colors an artist can use to really make the scene pop.
