Old Commonwealth 10 Year Batch 3 is the third expression in our flagship 10-year series — and the first one we’ve ever proofed down to the original 107 proof. This release honors the historic character of the original Old Commonwealth while delivering the rich, full-bodied depth our drinkers have come to expect. Bottled at a classic 107 proof, Batch 3 strikes the perfect balance between power and elegance. Nose: Caramel and vanilla cream to start, then dark cherry and rickhouse funk push in alongside oak spice, geosmin, and a note of ripe melon. There's a brightness living right next to the earthiness—neither overpowers, though. It’s like a delicious dusty that you’ve been saving for the perfect moment. Palate: Full bodied, big, rich, and round. Caramel leads, then a quick hit of stone fruit before barrel spice and rickhouse funk arrive. Creamy and oily, with enough grip to keep things interesting. Leather, dried tobacco leaves, and baking chocolate shavings follow. It moves through the mid-palate quickly, but it's not short. Finish: Extended and dark. Tobacco and baking chocolate carry it, with a dark cherry thread running underneath. Maximum of 1 bottle per order.
