Instructions Prepare the Beans - Split each vanilla bean lengthwise to expose the seeds. Combine - Add the remaining 10 beans into the bottle. Cut them if needed to ensure full submersion. Seal and Shake - Close tightly and shake well to distribute the vanilla. Infuse - Store in a cool, dark place. Because your bottle has already been infusing since May 2024, extraction will progress faster and reach a deeper profile sooner: 6–8 weeks: light, early extract 3–6 months: standard strength 6–12 months: fully developed flavor Agitate Occasionally - Shake every few days during the first month, then periodically after. Notes: This recipe creates a strong, concentrated extract well above standard single-fold strength as defined by the FDA. These instructions produce approximately a 1 part vanilla bean to 8 parts vodka ratio. There are many different vanilla extract methods, tips, and preferences available online.
