Wastewater Screens and Screening Equipment

Wastewater screening is the first operation in all wastewater treatment systems. Screens are the devices employed to retain solids found in the wastewater influent which is on its way to the treatment plant. The primary objective of screening is to remove solid materials that could potentially cause damage to other process equipment, cause a decrease in efficiency of the entire system or pollute waterways. The materials that are removed using screens are called screenings. There are a number of different types of wastewater screens, depending on the type of application.
