Angles Mortz (Tom Sharkett Remix)

Nightbus follow up their acclaimed debut record ‘Passenger’ with a remix of Angles Mortz, one of the album's standout tracks, coming courtesy of Manchester producer and W. H. Lung founder Tom Sharkett. Fresh from remixes for LCD Soundsystem and Nation of Language, Tom draws from a palette of Italo, EBM and off-kilter disco, bringing his club informed yet DIY-rooted stamp to the track; putting a distinctly ‘Manctalo’ spin on Angles Mortz. In Tom’s own words: “When I first heard Nightbus they reminded me of output on labels like Minimal Wave, and the band Deux in particular. In my mind they're Manchester's modern day equivalent so I really wanted to lean into that idea on the remix. I love how they offset the darker elements with a catchy vocal hook, something hopeful that flips the track on its head when it drops. Angles Mortz does that perfectly and was ripe for some dark EBM drums & a hefty bass, stretched out for the dancefloor.”
