Axella Ceramic Pendant Shade

A pendant lamp shade produced by Monrad Keramik for the celebrated Danish Ceramic studio Axella. Axella was founded in Denmark in the 1970s and was home to some of the most collectible studio ceramics of the era. Where many Axella pieces lean into dark glazes and organic forms, this example stands apart with its unglazed sandy stoneware and bold chevron pattern, feeling closer to folk pottery than the typical Danish studio aesthetic. Lit from within, the cut slots and triangular piercings cast dramatic patterned shadows, making this as much about atmosphere as craft. Stamped Axella/Monrad Keramik.
