About this Little Brown Dog whisky Refill bourbon barrel-matured Bowmore, certainly one of my favourite Islay distilleries. Bit more peat oomph than you normally get from Bowmore, wonderfully fruity before becoming a bit more umami and gorgeous texture. Andrew and Chris were pulling cask samples recently in Little Brown Dog’s warehouse, and this particular cask had a very unique character, one so unique they marked it with a (very rough) sketch of a roast chicken. They’re not going to win any art prizes any time soon, but yeah, chicken cask, more specifically, roast chicken flavoured crisps. Which explains why the label artwork is a crisp packet. It’s one of the (many) things we all love about single cask and small batch whiskies, unique characters that can’t be replicated.
