Mindful Makers: Clay, Arts, & Nature Summer Camp 2026 June 15–19, 2026 (Mon–Fri) 9:00 AM–3:30 PM Early drop-off & late pick-up available Location: Sooki Studio & Supply, 2971 Allesandro St, Frogtown LA 90039 Ages: 7–12 Camp Size: Limited to 15 campers Food: Daily snacks included; campers bring lunch All experience levels welcome, no ceramics experience necessary A Creative Summer Camp Rooted in Art & Nature Mindful Makers is a week-long clay and nature camp where kids explore creativity, mindfulness, and the local environment through hands-on artmaking and outdoor adventures. Campers will: Learn hand-building, sculpting, and texture techniques with professional ceramic artists Enjoy daily “Clay Free Play” for independent creative development Take guided nature walks along the LA River Path Play outdoor games and recess at Lewis McAdams Park Explore mindfulness, teamwork, and eco-friendly studio practices Create artwork to take home — all materials included With a small group size and a balance of structured workshops, outdoor exploration, and free creative time, campers build confidence, connection, and imagination in a supportive studio environment. This camp is presented in collaboration with CultivArte, a not-for-profit project that strives to provide low cost, accessible, and diverse arts programming led by professional teaching artists in Los Angeles County. Extended Care Early Drop-off: 8:30 AM ($25/day) Late Pick-up: 4:00–5:00 PM ($50/day) Tuition Includes Professional clay & art instruction Daily nature walks & outdoor play All art materials, tools, and kiln firing Daily snacks Community-building games & activities Eco-conscious art practices and environmental learning The Camp's Focus 6 Hours of Expert Instruction: 4 specialized, 1.5-hour workshops guided by a professional guest teaching artist. 4 Hours of Creative Freedom: 5 daily sessions of unguided "Clay Free Play" to encourage pure imagination and tactile exploration. Daily Guided Nature & Art Walks: Immersive walks along the LA River Path to gather artistic inspiration and learn about the local ecosystem. Daily Outdoor Recess: Supervised active play, lunch, and fresh air at Lewis McAdams Park. Daily Art Making: Free time to draw, paint, and create. Daily Community-Building: Morning and closing circles featuring structured team games and social-emotional learning activities. Eco-responsability values: campers learn about the local ecosystem, its inhabitants, and the impact of the human footprint.
