I wanted the portrait to feel weathered by time, almost like a face appearing through smoke, memory, or storm. The figure carries a quiet stillness to him. Wisdom, grief, endurance, solitude. Not painted as a perfect likeness, but as a feeling. Much of my work explores what remains beneath the surface, the emotional residue people carry through life. The scratches, drips, and raw textures were intentionally left visible, allowing the artwork to breathe rather than become overly polished.
