St Leonards Arch,
also known as the East Lodge, or East Gate, it was designed by James Burton in a neo-classical, doric, style, and erected on Grand Parade in 1828 to mark the eastern boundary of St Leonards to distinguish it from the adjacent borough of Hastings. This is an enlarged and laminated reprint of a b&w photograph originally taken c.1895, shortly before the archway was demolished to allow for the road to be widened. Location: BSLS Archive
