Epilepsy in Aged Care

In this course, you will learn about epilepsy and its impact on ageing individuals, including common seizure types and how they present. You will explore how epilepsy affects ageing individuals, focusing on physical and psychosocial challenges, and discover how aged care workers can provide person-centred support. Lastly, you will develop skills in safe epilepsy management, including managing triggers, seizure safety, injury prevention, and sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP), ensuring better care and an improved quality of life for ageing individuals with epilepsy.
