Named after the traditional large oak “Afoura” barrels historically used in Santorini winemaking, this wine captures the island’s distinctive combination of salinity, minerality and intense citrus-driven freshness. Produced from old basket-trained vines grown in Pyrgos, the wine is matured for 12 months in traditional Afoura barrels and amphorae, adding texture and complexity while preserving Santorini’s trademark volcanic precision. The nose shows flint, dried citrus peel, bergamot and subtle honeyed aromatics layered over mineral freshness. The palate delivers crisp acidity, saline minerality, citrus zest and savoury nutty complexity with impressive structure. The finish is long, textured and intensely mineral with lingering sea-spray freshness.
