The 2C is one of Bach’s larger trumpet mouthpiece designs, with a 16.50 mm diameter and a medium C cup. It offers a broad, clear sound with more room than the smaller standard Bach sizes, while still retaining the brilliance and focus associated with the classic C-cup design. This New York example carries the character of early Vincent Bach production, from a period when Bach mouthpieces were establishing the design language that would shape generations of brass playing. The bore has been opened to a #24, giving this piece a more open, free-blowing feel than the standard setup. For the right artist, that modification can add flexibility, breadth, and a little more room in the response. This mouthpiece is in excellent vintage condition, especially considering its age.
