Art Journaling For Self-Care

DATE: FRIDAY, JUNE 12, 2026 TIME: 11:00AM – 4:00PM PDT LEVEL: Beginner to Intermediate AGE GROUP: Adult (ages 18+) LOCATION: Building 306, Fort Worden, Port Townsend. DESCRIPTION The practice of art journaling can be profoundly and quietly helpful. Designed for those who are interested in journaling as a tool for reflection and response to life, this workshop will spark the possibilities of words and images that are uniquely yours. Through writing prompts and art-making exercises, Meg will guide the creation and completion of your own small journal – an expressive, flexible process that can inspire your future journaling. SUPPLY INFORMATION A high-quality art journal will be provided to all students. Students should bring: Notebook or notepad and pen for writing; Art supplies of your choice – any wet or dry media, collage materials, etc.; Images you like from your phone or printed materials; A snack for break time. ABOUT MEG Meg Kaczyk guides artists of all levels in classes and workshops based on her own studio process. Her work is fed by daily life, the natural world, poetry, and a long-standing meditation practice. Originally trained as an illustrator and graphic designer, Meg has enjoyed a long creative career including art direction, graphic design, arts administration, and teaching. She exhibits her paintings across the region. Students withdrawing from a course at least seven days prior to the first day of class will receive a 90% refund of the course enrollment fee. Students withdrawing fewer than seven days from the first day of class are not eligible for a refund—except for illness or injury, in which case students are eligible to receive a 40% refund of the course enrollment fee. Please note that 10% of every course’s registration fee is considered a non-refundable deposit to cover administrative overhead. Any donation given at the time of checkout is also non-refundable. All refunds will be applied to the same credit card that was used for enrollment. No credits or transfers will be granted.
