Hand-Embroidered Vivid Silhouette Cushion by Margit Wittig

We are excited about our latest design collaboration with sculptor and painter, Margit Wittig. Known for her sculptural contemporary bespoke lighting and furniture, Margit's practice as designer and maker is inspired by colour combinations and textures found in nature. Seeing textiles and sculpting as intertwined practices, the organic forms of Margit's sculptural pieces informed the design of this cushion. The textural qualities of Margit's work are expressed through tactile directional hand-embroidery - vibrant pops of colour appear in fly stitch across the design, mirroring the marks that Margit etches onto the surfaces of her sculpture. The cushion is finished with luxurious charcoal piping, echoing the tones within the repeat pattern, drawing the colour outwards and creating a striking frame around the composition of organic shapes and embroidery. This cushion pairs beautifully with the Silhouette Burnt Orange Cushion, also part of the Margit Wittig Collection.
