It also helps tenderise the dough, giving soft, well-risen gluten free scones. Can I make both sweet and savoury scones with one mix? Yes. This gluten free scone mix is designed as a base for multiple flavour options, including cheese, sweet, and fruit scones. Each 850g pack makes 2 batches of scones. Why grate or chop cold butter into the mix? Cold butter creates small pockets in the dough, which helps produce light, fluffy gluten free scones when baked. Can this be made dairy free? Yes. Butter: Use a dairy-free alternative. If soft, finely chop instead of grating and mix through evenly. Milk: Use your preferred dairy-free milk and sour it with lemon juice or vinegar as directed. If the milk doesn't thicken, add a little extra lemon juice or 1 tablespoon dairy-free yoghurt. If using yoghurt, reduce milk by approximately 30ml to maintain the correct dough consistency. Can I freeze gluten free scones? Yes, you can. Prepare and shape your scones, then freeze them on a tray until solid. Once frozen, transfer to a zip-lock bag or airtight container and store in the freezer. When ready to bake, thaw or cook straight from frozen adding 5 minutes cooking time Oven: 20–25 minutes at 220°C until golden Air fryer: 10–12 minutes until golden and cooked through Fresh gluten free scones anytime, with no extra effort. How do I store gluten free scones? Scones are best eaten fresh on the day they are baked. If you have leftovers, they will still be good the next day — simply warm or toast to refresh. Are gluten free scones difficult to make? Not with a pre-made mix. This blend is designed to be simple, reliable, and beginner-friendly, helping you make consistent gluten free scones every time.
