“Do we have any functional artifact in our lives that only a single person was involved in, from the material creation itself to the completion of an object?” This was a question we pondered when we first encountered Bamboo baskets handcrafted by Taku-san of Chicktack, who is involved in every part of bamboo basket-making, from sourcing/processing bamboo to finishing the baskets on Yakushima Island, Japan. The meticulous weaving patterns on the Bamboo Tote not only make the basket sturdy and durable but also offer a visually tactile experience. While holding the basket, it's easy to be swept away into a quiet bamboo forest on a remote island where it came from. Bamboo Tote is designed and engineered to be your trusted companion, whether you are enjoying a cafe moment with analogue tools or out and about in the city.
