This ring features a rare stone called dumortierite quartz, which is clear quartz with tiny needles of blue dumortierite inside. From a distance it will look like a dark blue stone, but from up close you can see the complexity inside. This specimen is set with an open backing, so you can also see a peek of your finger through the blue fibers.
