Large Antique Brass Vessel for Umbrellas, Canes or Fireside Storage This antique brass umbrella stand is a wonderfully substantial old piece with beautiful timeworn character and an unusual architectural form. Made from formed sheet brass with a fixed arched handle, interior cross support and raised base, its original utilitarian purpose is unknown. Today, we love its tall cylindrical shape for holding umbrellas and walking sticks or placed beside the fireplace for kindling. The naturally aged brass surface has been left unpolished, preserving its warm, mottled patina.
