1/2" NPT Stainless Ball Valve, 316, PTFE Seats, 1000 WOG, Lockable
Half inch ball valve, 316 stainless, female NPT both ends, PTFE seats, 1000 WOG, with a lockable lever handle. Two piece body. Rated -65 F to 400 F. No brand on it and no brand premium on the price. The numbers Size 1/2 in, female NPT both ends Body 316 stainless, two piece, cast and marked 1/2" 316 1000WOG Seats PTFE Pressure 1000 WOG, cast into the body. A working pressure for water, oil and gas at ambient temperature Temperature -65 F to 400 F (-54 C to 204 C). This is our rating, see below Handle Lever with a locking plate, so it takes a padlock open or closed. Padlock not included Where the temperature rating comes from The -65 F figure is ours, not the manufacturer's. This valve is unbranded and ships without a datasheet, so there is no factory pressure and temperature curve to hand you. We are rating it on the materials, 316 stainless with PTFE seats, and on where we use it. It has not been cold cycle tested to BS 6364, MSS SP-134 or ISO 28921, and it carries no third party certification of any kind. What that means in practice. On a ball valve the seat governs the cold end, not the body. PTFE contracts several times faster than the stainless around it, so as the valve chills the seat pulls away from the ball and from its pocket and some of the preload that made the seal goes with it. Run it near the bottom of the range and check the joint rather than assuming it. If you need a certified cold rating, do not buy this valve. The Superlok SBV210-S is factory rated -65 F to 450 F on a PEEK seat, and the Superlok SBV120H2-S4-LT is a 1/4 in rated to -65 F. Both come with the maker's paper behind them. For reference, an N.B. Oler system bottoms out at -40 F on standard elastomeric gaskets and -65 F with PTFE. What it is good for Shutoff on a threaded line. Water, glycol, compressed gas, oil and solvent transfer. Anywhere you want a valve that can be locked out rather than just closed. The handle takes a padlock in either position. Threaded NPT, so it plumbs into pipe. For tube, use a compression valve instead. Fitment 1/2 in female NPT both ends. Thread sealant or PTFE tape on assembly, and do not overtighten a tapered thread into a cast body. Not a compression fitting valve. For 3/8 in or 1/2 in tube, use the Superlok compression ball valves. Not a sanitary valve. For tri clamp lines see the non-encapsulated and encapsulated tri clamp valves. Not an ASME pressure part. Do not put it on a certified hydrocarbon system in place of a specified valve.
