POCO Graphite Tapping Electrodes are precision-machined graphite electrodes designed for EDM tapping and thread-erosion applications. Manufactured from high-quality POCO graphite materials, they provide consistent electrical performance, dimensional stability, and reliable results when producing internal threads using EDM technology. Orbiting tap electrodes are 4" OAL with 3" of threaded length. Available in three material grades, POCO Graphite electrodes can be selected based on the workpiece material, required performance, and application requirements. The copper impregnation reduces the electrical resistivity of the graphite, allowing higher electrical current to pass through the electrode. This can be beneficial when additional power is required for challenging EDM applications. Unlike solid copper, the graphite structure maintains the hardness and dimensional stability needed for producing small and detailed features with tight tolerances.
