One blend serves two jobs: a fish or coral bath/dip in a separate vessel, and in-tank water conditioning for fish and corals alike. Safe for use in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. The Australian environment is unforgiving and harsh, and Australian plant species in particular have developed to withstand it — intense sun, poor soils, long dry spells and everything else this continent throws at them. Over millions of years those plants built up rich, complex stores of botanical compounds to survive and thrive in that environment. VerdePlex harnesses several never-before-used Australian essential oils and botanical extracts, drawing on that evolutionary resilience to help condition and clean the water in your aquarium — adding beneficial botanical compounds to the tank, just like in nature. It's the same principle aquarists have leaned on for generations with Indian almond leaf and driftwood, now in a concentrated, precisely proportioned liquid blend. Why This Blend The Difference 🌿 Unique Australian Botanicals Several never-before-used Australian essential oils and botanical extracts — plant compounds forged in one of the harshest environments on Earth, in one blend. 🌊 Fresh & Salt Water Safe Formulated for both freshwater and saltwater systems — the same bottle conditions a planted tank or a reef setup. 🐠 Fish & Coral Suitable One blend for the whole aquarium — in-tank water care alongside fish, and bath/dip preparation for fish and corals in a separate vessel. 💧 Genuinely Concentrated One 500 mL bottle cleanses thousands of litres of aquarium water — enough for months of regular care, or dozens of fish and coral dips. What's Inside The Australian Botanical Blend Unique Australian Botanicals Contains unique Australian botanical extracts — several never before used in aquarium care, drawn from plant species that evolved to thrive in one of the harshest environments on Earth. Yes — that's the idea. One botanical blend, two routines: an in-tank water conditioner used alongside your fish, and a separate-vessel bath/dip for fish and corals. Follow the dosing directions for whichever routine you're running. Is it safe in both freshwater and saltwater? Yes. VerdePlex is formulated for use in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums at the same dosing scale — planted community tanks and reef setups alike. What is a botanical aquarium conditioner? It's an aquarium husbandry product that uses pure plant essential oils to condition the aquarium environment as part of a regular care routine — the same category as Indian almond leaf, driftwood and aquarium botanicals, but in a concentrated, precisely blended liquid form. How is this different from a chemical water conditioner? Chemical conditioners (like dechlorinators) work by neutralising tap water chemicals. A botanical conditioner works differently — it adds natural plant compounds to the aquarium environment as part of routine husbandry. Many aquarists use both: a dechlorinator at water change, and a botanical conditioner as ongoing care. What's in the 16-oil blend? A unique botanical profile of 16 different essential oils, including several unique Australian botanical extracts never before used in aquarium care. Each oil is selected and proportioned for its role in the water care routine. Can I use it with eggs or baby fish? No. This product is not for use with fish eggs, fry, larvae, or in hatchery and larval rearing systems. It's formulated for adult and juvenile fish in display or quarantine tanks, and for fish/coral bath/dip preparation in a separate vessel. Why does the blend need an emulsifier? Essential oils don't disperse in water on their own. A food-grade natural emulsifier keeps the blend evenly dispersed so every dose is consistent — and it replaces the synthetic surfactants used in many competitor products. How long does a bottle last? A 500 mL bottle cleanses 10,000 litres of aquarium water at the general care rate (5 mL per 100 L), up to 20,000 litres at the light bath rate, or provides 60+ heavy-scrub baths/dips for fish and corals. At the standard 7-day course rate, one bottle covers about 14 full courses. Store cool and dark, and it keeps for 12 months or more. Do I need to remove activated carbon? Yes — remove activated carbon from your filter during in-tank use, as it will adsorb the botanical compounds. Resume normal filtration (including carbon) after your water change at the end of a course. Carbon is not relevant for bath/dip use in a separate vessel. Not Sure Where To Start? Every aquarium is different. If you're not sure whether VerdePlex suits your setup — or which routine to run — reach out and we'll help you work it out.
