Factory seconds are brand-new, factory-packaged products that did not pass the manufacturer's extremely strict quality control, typically due to minor cosmetic imperfections rather than structural issues. At this grade, you can expect defects ranging from slight packaging wear or a faint surface mark through to a small scratch, scuff, or corner chip on a panel. More often than not, any defect is barely noticeable — but please be aware that more visible blemishes are possible. Importantly, because these items remain in their original factory packaging, they are often in better condition than customer returns, which are frequently repacked incorrectly and can arrive with multiple minor issues. Factory seconds are new products with typically one isolated defect. Priced at 40% below retail (RRP £699), these represent outstanding value for a premium solid walnut piece.
