Aluminum underbody skid plates for the BYD Leopard

The aluminum skid plate for the BYD Leopard offers significant protective benefits, which is particularly important given that it is a hybrid SUV with sensitive and costly components located beneath the chassis. Here are its key advantages: 1. Protection for the Electric Battery and High-Voltage Wiring 🔋 The battery is the most expensive component in BYD hybrid vehicles, and it is positioned on the vehicle's undercarriage. The aluminum plate acts as a rigid shield, preventing rocks or sharp objects from directly striking the battery—thereby saving you from exorbitant repair costs and the risk of cell damage. 2. Protection During Off-Road Driving (Desert and Sand) 🏜️ • Preventing Sand Accumulation: During activities like "dune bashing," sand can be forced into the crevices around the engine and transmission. The skid plate creates a smooth underbody surface, preventing the buildup of sand and moisture. • Impact Absorption: It shields the front engine, rear electric motor, and fuel tank from sudden, forceful impacts—such as those that might occur when landing hard after cresting a sand dune or striking a rock. 3. Lightweight Yet Highly Durable ⚖️ Aluminum (often alloyed with magnesium) provides robust protection—approaching the strength of steel—while being significantly lighter. This ensures: • The vehicle’s overall weight does not increase substantially. • Fuel and electrical energy consumption remain efficient. • No adverse impact on the suspension system (struts and springs). 4. Resistance to Rust and Corrosion 🌧️ Unlike iron—which can become noisy and prone to rust when exposed to water or salt (especially in coastal areas)—aluminum is completely rust-resistant and will last for the entire lifespan of the vehicle.
