A cutting mechanism on the suction side cuts solids into a slurry at 414,000 cuts per minute, and a seven-vane, angled-face, non-clogging brass impeller passes that slurry through the volute into the discharge line. The 2 HP, 3450 RPM motor has built-in overload protection against over-current and over-temperature damage, a carbon/ceramic mechanical seal and a short, deflection-resistant shaft. The finish is epoxy-coated cast iron. The M in IGP-M means manual: the start components are mounted outside the pump. Every IGP-M runs from a control panel. Single-phase models need the specific FPS control panel or capacitor kit matched to the pump for proper operation and third-party approval; three-phase models need an approved motor control with overloads set to the pump full-load amps. If you want a pump that runs on its own float with no panel, the IGP-A automatic series is the one to choose.
