Enormous Turnip

Bring a beloved fairy tale to life, one wooden character at a time. Inspired by The Enormous Turnip, this handmade lacing set invites children to thread familiar figures together, retell the tale, and imagine adventures of their own. ✨ Learning Through Story and Play 🤲 Fine motor practice: Guiding the wooden needle through the pieces and drawing the cord through offers opportunities to practice hand-eye coordination and controlled hand movements. 📖 Storytelling and sequencing: Choosing which character comes next invites children to explore the order of the familiar tale. Naming the figures and describing how they help one another offers opportunities to practice expressive language through play. 💬 Cooperation and shared play: Taking turns threading the characters and telling parts of the story encourages conversation and creates opportunities to enjoy an activity together. 🌱 Thread a Tale of Togetherness Lay out the characters and invite each one to join the effort to pull up the enormous turnip, threading them onto the cord as the story unfolds. Explore what might happen if the mouse arrived first, or invent a new garden adventure for the family and their animal friends. Let children choose the order and tell the story in their own words. Afterward, arrange the figures and recall who helped pull the turnip from the ground. 🌿 Natural Wood & Thoughtful Craftsmanship Each piece is handcrafted from natural solid wood, carefully sanded by hand, and decorated with non-toxic water-based paints suitable for children's toys. The wooden figures offer the warmth and texture of natural wood, while the painted details give each character a distinctive personality. 🎁 A Thoughtful Gift for Story Lovers A distinctive handmade gift for children who enjoy fairy tales and hands-on activities.
