Vintage Chinese Embossed Leaf Drum Box with Rattan Trim 16H x 12”W

A drum-shaped lidded storage box with real age and character. The cylindrical body is wrapped in a warm ochre covering embossed with an allover maple leaf pattern, banded at the top and base with hand-woven rattan in red and dark brown cross-stitch motifs. The hinged lid is lined in burgundy and held by a fabric stay, with a brass latch and brass ring pulls on the sides.Shows honest wear consistent with age, including scattered surface losses on the body. Lovely as a side-of-sofa accent, blanket or throw storage, a catch-all in an entry, or simply as a sculptural piece on a shelf or console.Dimensions: TBD
