Cockerel

Free-range and pasture raised on Fosse Meadow's farm in Leicestershire, these cockerels' diet comes from foraging in meadows, supplemented with hormone free cereals and pulses. These flavoursome birds are slow grown for up to 140 days and deliver exceptional taste with a buttery texture and immense flavour. They make a great alternative to a traditional turkey dinner. Note: Cockerels differ from French Capons, which are castrated male birds, a practice we no longer allow in the UK. Unlike the traditional Capon diet of milk soaked oats, these cockerels eat a diet of foraged plants and insects supplemented with hormone free grain, which results in a more flavoursome bird.
