Each hide takes at least 89 steps over 28 working days, from chrome tanning to a bark retan to hot-stuffing with tallow, oils, and beeswax. Those oils and waxes keep it supple and quick to break in, and help it shrug off a wet morning. In terms of color, this drum-dyed version of Chromexcel is black through and through, wearable with anything.
