by Filippo Sorcinelli UNUM Collection Leather, Gourmand Unisex Vulnus: the beauty of the scar Vulnus is Latin for “wound.” The same root gives us vulnerare, “to wound,” and vulnerabilis, “able to be wounded.” Vulnerable. So opens the fifteenth chapter of the UNUM collection: the story of a deep wound, of the body or the heart, that refuses to stay buried in shame. It steps into the light, and then it turns to gold. To put those emotions into scent, Sorcinelli built an accord of oxidized iron and burnt caramel over a skin of leather, a reminder of the pain inflicted. Jasmine, Vov (an Italian liqueur) and black vanilla then cover it with a generous dose of comfort and softness... without ever erasing it.
