THE SIDEKICK — HANDMADE BENCH WITH BUILT-IN TABLE A proper place to sit. And a useful little bit on the side. The Sidekick combines a handmade timber bench with a generous built-in end table, because sometimes you want somewhere solid underneath you and somewhere nearby to put your drink. Coffee. Wine. Lunch. A book you’re not actually reading. Whatever helps you stay in position. The bench has a slatted timber seat, substantial braced frame and a distinctive bark-covered log backrest — rough around the edges, full of character and reassuringly woody. At the opposite end, you get a conventional armrest. So one side is sensible. The other is a bit more adventurous. We like balance. The broad integrated table is built directly into the frame, giving you plenty of room for glasses, bottles, snacks and anything else you’d rather keep within easy reach once you’ve got comfortable. Because nobody wants to get up unnecessarily. Especially after finding the right position. Because it did. And frankly, we see no reason to hide a good bit of wood. MAKE IT YOURS For bespoke commissions, we can alter the overall size, table position and finish. Want your extra bit on the left? Fine. Prefer it on the right? Also fine. Need it longer, wider, darker, smoother or with a bit more protection? We can discuss finishes, oils and treatments too. Because if you’re planning on spending a lot of time outdoors with exposed wood, protection is usually sensible. The example shown has the table on the left when viewed from the front. Every piece will naturally vary in grain, knots, bark and shape. Some bits will be straighter. Some bits will be knobbly. Occasionally a piece of timber turns up looking so suggestive we simply have to use it. ORDERING & DELIVERY Enquire for current availability and a quotation. Final dimensions, finish and delivery arrangements are agreed before ordering. Delivery is quoted separately according to location and access. Styling accessories are not included. If you’re in North Wales, we’ll usually bring it to you ourselves. Further afield, we’ll arrange the best way of getting it to you safely — pallet, courier, van, or whatever makes most sense for the piece. Some of the larger and more gloriously awkward creations may need a little extra organising, particularly if you’re a long way from us, but we’ll sort that with you directly. Collection is always welcome too. At the moment, we deliver within the UK only.
