I'm bringing my classes to the seaside! Pāpāmoa this is a new class in your neighbourhood to get familiar with your sewing machine. Join us and the growing sewing community here in the bay, and the world-wide family of supportive makers across the globe! Feel the joy of slowing down, switch off our phones and getting hands on with some craft, meeting crafty pals alongside you. Classes are a maximum of 10 people so not too much of a wait to get your questions answered, but there's enough of a social crafty vibe to feel the encouragement, and the muck up lols with those around you. Time: 6:30-8:30pm Location: Driftwood Room, Gordon Spratt Community Centre, Pāpāmoa Wednesday 11th Nov, Session 1: Learn the ropes (literally threading up) of a sewing machine, understand all the decorative and dangerous features, and once you're feeling all warmed up you get to choose some fabrics from my fabric stash and together we will whip up a snackage package, a zero waste cutlery kit. Wednesday 18th Nov, Session 2: Learn the most common repair techniques, hemming, rips and buttons, BYO repairs pile and we will learn and tackle the items together. Returning clothes to the wardrobe to be loved and worn again. Wednesday 25th Nov, Session 3: Learn how to follow a simple pattern to make yourself a tote bag, perfect as your future sewing bag! Some fabrics supplied, feel free to BYO. WHAT TO BRING: Bring your sewing machine if you have one, I have some to loan out if you don't have one, please let me know if you want to reserve one. Fabric, tools & tea are supplied. Bring a water bottle if you need it, and a notebook if you find note-taking helpful for your learning experience.
